Have you guys hopped on the beauty blender bus? Are you in a beauty blender blunder (say that 3 times fast!)? Because I am! Thanks to my sweet friend Katie for showing me this cool spongey thing that she gets wet and applies her foundation with, I now own several. Why didn’t I know about this before, and why did it take me almost a year to actually buy one?! I’m so obsessed with these bad boys I can hardly even look at at my foundation brushes the same. I remember 12 years ago, I saved my Christmas money to go buy a nice $40 Lancome foundation brush and it was the best thing that ever to happen to me… And I’m pretty sure my ex husband got that in the divorce but I’m not mad. Haha! I have tried my fare share of sponges and I’ve always had a love for the cheap little white triangle kind-of-weird-shaped sponge, we go way back, but those suckers are taking a back seat to these blenders! I admit, I am a bit picky with my sponge, I don’t like them too cheap, but sometimes the expensive ones are not that fabulous, and the same thing goes for these beauty blenders. I bought some less expensive ones from Target (of course), some from the ‘cheaper’ side of Ulta like this one here, and I just recently (like last Thursday) broke down and spent the $20 on the ‘real’ Beauty Blender and I’m already over it. It’s almost half the size of the cheaper ones and I don’t think the material is any better. In fact, it’s worse! Ok, the size does help for smaller areas on the face but I am really not impressed, and I can’t return my used pink sponge that looks like I dipped it in something mysterious either! Besides, I’m pretty sure Hudson already fed it to our dog Louie, or he ate it himself… I guess we’ll never know.
Any who, I was at TJ Maxx the other day and I spotted an entire display of these suckers and I was in beauty blender heaven! I’ll take 2 to go thanks. Of course I had to snap a photo because it was that awesome. I wanted to buy one of every single color, shape and size just to try them all out. I’m pretty sure I’ve done that with mascara but that’s a whole other blog post! I hope you guys get the chance to try out these cool sponges, you will love them, but save your dollars and try the less expensive ones first 🙂
Bye for now!
