Hey guys! I’ve been super MIA lately here and on social media, I can’t really handle one more thing on my plate right now. I have my oldest son starting high school and to say the least, it’s been a bit of an emotional roller coaster. I also have one junior high-er, one still in elementary school and one pre-schooler….. yep, I’m a freaking mess over here! Between back to schools shopping for normal clothes, uniforms, supplies and Hudsons birthday (he’ll be 4 next week and I’m dying!) I have spent so much money I’m grossed out. (Not to mention this Burberry jacket I HAD to have for my early Anniversary, Christmas, Birthday and Valentines present, damn Nordstrom sale!)
This season always brings joy along with stress, even though it’s 3/4 of the way through the year, it’s just the beginning of a new school year. I love seeing my kids off to school and for more experience and growth for them, but I’m also not ready for another rigid schedule. These last couple of months have hit me with the harsh reality that I only have 4 more years with my son home, and 5 years with my daughter. I remember when they were little it seemed like we had all of the time in the world. It’s been an emotional season for me and I have been trying to be more present, which is another reason for my absence here. I want to cherish these moments and be mentally and physically there for my kids as much as I possibly can.
As I’ve been reflecting on life past, present and future, I’ve came to realize that sometimes feeling like I constantly have to post to social media was really stealing a lot of the joy I once had with this blog. I have a clear passion for style and all things fashion, but I know there is so much more to life than what I’m wearing, so a goal I have is to share much more real life experiences and getting back to other tips and tricks including beauty, recipes and just chatting about motherhood and life in general. I don’t ever want to give up blogging, but I will not be doing it as much as I’d like to be right now.
We have a few projects also going on around our home as well. We’re just wrapping up some new landscaping in the backyard and this fall we will be renovating our kitchen and also adding new flooring through out our home. I would love some advice on how to stay sane during that time! 😉 I will also be sharing our experience and before and afters with you all, I can’t freaking wait!
Thank you so much for stopping by my little corner of the internet, I hope you continue to follow along my journey through motherhood and life in style!
Also, here are a few things I can’t get enough of lately, along with some fun products I really want to try!
