Hey guys! I can’t believe it’s already Wednesday!! I love Holiday weekends because it seems like the rest of the week goes by so much faster. Matt and I went to the OC for the long weekend. We had some business to do while we were there and decided to celebrate our anniversary too since we won’t be able to go anywhere in November. Hey, it can’t ALWAYS be business right?! We were really excited to get away just the two of us though, it was LONG over due!
So now that we’re back in town, it’s back to business… again! I’ve often been asked what foundations I use, so today I’m sharing my top favorites (top faves right now, they change from time to time). I’ve always been a huge fan of mineral makeup but not all of the ones I’ve tried have worked for my skin. I’ve also found some other non-mineral based ones that work for me as well. I tend to have pretty sensitive skin so trying new foundations can get really frustrating, especially when I find one that I LOVE but then I break out in mystery rashes on my cheeks, it’s disastrous! 😉
Here are some liquid foundations I’ve been loving lately:
Liquid Naked Foundation by Urban Decay– I love the smooth texture and light, but enough, coverage. I usually use a pressed powder (like this one) over this if I want a little more coverage, or just a finishing powder works great too.
Clinique Matte Liquid– This is AMAZING for photo shoots. Typically when I do photo shoots, matte makeup (even eye shadow) looks best in pictures. I bought the Clinique matte setting powder to go over this but I actually like this Lorac setting powder better.
Bare Minerals Bareskin Liquid– This. stuff. is. AWESOME! It’s like a serum and I feel like it really hydrates my skin. It goes on like butter! It’s more of light – medium coverage and I have to be careful with this one because it can look a little more dewy as the day goes on, but this Mineral Veil over it helps.
Clinique Beyond Perfecting Liquid– I can’t tell you enough how much I LOVE this foundation. It covers so incredibly well with out feeling and looking cake-y. I love to use a matte setting powder or this Laura Mercier translucent powder over it.
No 7 Stay Perfect Foundation– this is really great for babes on a budget, or not! This foundation has the wearability of a high end foundation and it’s totally affordable! I use this with this No 7 primer and love the way it goes on and stays on. I usually set this foundation with this Laura Mercier setting powder or this Lorac one.
I have been using these powder foundations for years and still love them like I did on our first date 😉 :
Bare Minerals– I will always have this in my make up bag!
My foundation tends to change with my mood, just like my hair, eye makeup, outfit… and pretty much like everything else in my life! But lately these are my go to’s. I hope you found this post helpful and I’d love to hear your feedback! 🙂
