Well, I guess I took another hiatus from the blog…. I can’t really give you just one reason why, there are several I can throw out but whats more important is that I am BACK! SO much has been going on between our kitchen remodel, the holidays and the flu bug blues. It seems as though as soon as we and/or the kids get over some sort of bug, another one comes creeping in, I didn’t think we were that unhealthy, jeesh!
Ok, first thing on the list of whats been going on is …. the REMODEL! We first started our renovation shortly before Thanksgiving. Matt and I decided to do all of the demo ourselves (with the help of some family, thank God) to save us thousands of dollars (and we were still over budget a little, oops!). We’re so glad its finished and we are so in love, it really is my dream kitchen! I will have a separate post all about it on the blog soon, I am waiting until our fireplace is totally complete. I can’t wait for you guys to see it! For now, you will just have a little sneak peak from the picture below 😉
We’ve been attending a new church and I am just SO in love with this little place. It’s much smaller than the one we had been attending over the last several years and it’s really refreshing for us to meet new people and not get lost in the crowd. Our old church was so great and they have so many awesome programs and classes for us and our kids, but we got to the point where we didn’t really look forward to going to church and we actually missed more than we attended. We were ready for a change. Now we can’t wait to go and if we miss a Sunday we hate to think about what a great message we might have missed. Now, let me be totally transparent, I did in fact miss yesterday. I was out of town all last weekend for EllaBleu’s VB tournament in Phx and I just wanted to be home yesterday. (I also drive 1.5 hours every Sunday to pick my older kids up from their dad so a lot of my Sundays are spent driving) So Matt and the two younger kids went to church and I stayed home, read my bible, read a new devotional I just started (you can find it here, it’s so good!) and I also read a little bit of this book as well, which is a total life changer, I highly recommend it to everyone! After that I got a 30 minute bike ride in on my Peloton and I was feeling PRE-TTTTY happy by the time the family got home. Oh how I appreciate and love quiet mornings like that. Although I knew I had missed something good at church and Matt said it was his favorite sermon yet. DARN IT! But I am glad he got to go by himself. I instantly fell in love with this church on our first visit and Matt was not 100% certain this was the church for us right away. Sometimes I feel like my enthusiasm at church can be a distraction to him and I think it’s really good that he got to be there and hear all of what the pastor was teaching without me next to him out loud agreeing with everything the pastor said. Haha! Do you know what I’m talking about? Like everything he says I’m like “yes!” “that’s right!” “amen!” Oh how I am so thankful for my kind patient husband who loves me and all of my annoyances.
Two weeks ago EllaBleu had freshman orientation at the high school so we went to that and let me just say, I AM NOT READY TO HAVE TWO KIDS IN HIGH SCHOOL! Like what!?!!! How did this happen?! I am in tears over here just thinking about it. Lord help me through this. She is so excited for high school and I’m over here sobbing and throwing a fit like a four year old. Maybe if I lock her in her room she’ll stop growing up? Everyone says before we know it our kids are all grown up, and you know what, it’s so true. I’m really trying to slow down, enjoy and love each minute I have with my kids. Who’s with me?!
SO with all of that being said, I must sign off and go pick another sick kid up from school. I know I don’t have super interesting things going on but some exciting things are happening and I love sharing a glimpse into our life with you!
Thanks for stopping by!
