Hey guys! I’m SO excited to talk about this topic today! It’s been a post I’ve been so eager to share with you all and I finally had some time to get it done. Essential oils have been a big part of my life for the past few years and now I can’t imagine life with out them! Several months ago I joined Young Living and started my journey to an even more healthier life style, and I haven’t looked back! I love all the single oils and oil blends they offer, but I also love that they have so many clean products to choose from including supplements, cleaning solutions and even makeup. I appreciate that they have so much to offer and essentially everything I need to make my home as toxin free as I can. I use oils in many ways and for many reasons, whether it’s season support (hello lavender, lemon and peppermint yumminess!) or hormone related issues, energy and overall peace and calming (yes, there is a peace and calming blend and its one of my FAVORITES). We diffuse it, eat it (bake with it, swallow it, drink it etc.) and topically apply it, these glass rollers and this oil from Amazon will be your best friend for DIY roller blends.
My point of this post is NOT to sell you on Young Living though, haha! I just love that I can use this platform and other social media outlets to share the things I’m most passionate about, oils included! I want to start posting every week my top favorite oil blends, would this help you? When I first started out with Young Living, posts like these helped me tremendously (and they still do!). I mean, I had NO clue what blends work well together, how to mix rollers and how to apply oils when I started out with oils years ago, and I just so happened to land on a team with Young Living who supports each other so much and offers SOOOO much information on our products and their benefits. I can’t just keep all of this info to myself and since these oils have made such a difference in my home and my life, I’m choosing not to be selfish and share all my info with you! I hope this can help someone else who may be struggling with figuring out the oil world as well.
So now for the good stuff! The best way to start out with oils is by purchasing a premium starter kit where you get a diffuser and 11 oils, along with all kinds of other goodies and info that help you start your oily journey. This week I will start with some of my favorite starter kit blends since I feel like the starting point is the most difficult part.
Root Beer Float- 4 drops stress away & 4 drops panaway
Relax and Refresh- (and seasonal support!) – 4 drops citrus fresh, 4 drops lavender and 1 drop peppermint
Sweet Dreams- 4 drops lavender & 4 drops stress away
Immune Boost- 5 drops thieves & 3 drops lemon
Holiday Fresh- 5 drops thieves & 3 drops peppermint
Sick Blend- 5 drops frankincense & 5 drops thieves – This is one blend that I use EVERY single time some one in our home is sick. I really feel it helps in so many areas and frankincense is known to have so many healing qualities ( remember when frankincense and myrrh were brought to Mary when she gave birth to Jesus? It MUST be a good one! 😉 )
I’ll be sharing many more blends every week and with us being in the middle of the holidays, below are some of my favorite holiday blends, I also strongly recommend adding cinnamon, Christmas spirit, clove and Joy (to name a few!) to your holiday oil collection!
Candy Cane– 4 drops stress away& 4 drops peppermint
Spicy Treat- 3 drops cinnamon, 3 drops thieves & 2 drops clove
Holiday Spirit– 6 drops Christmas spirit & 3 drops orange
Cider- 3 drops orange, 3 drops nutmeg & 2 drops cinnamon (or clove)
Gingerbread– 3 drops ginger, 2 drops cinnamon, 2 drops clove & 2 drops nutmeg
I’m a heavy dropper so I typically do at least 8-10 drops total when I diffuse oils, but that’s too strong for some people (my husband included) so experiment with the ratios as you’d like.
I know, the oil world is large and confusing, if you have any questions or comments on oil blends or just oily things in general I would LOVE to hear about them so please feel free to share in the comments below or shoot me an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you so much for stopping bye, be blessed!
